Can People See When You Pin Them on Google Meet? – A Step-by-Step Study

When participating in a Google Meet meeting with many participants, one of the common problems is that the screen shifts to various participant profiles from time to time. Pinning a person or profile to your Google Meet home screen is the best solution to avoid this scenario.

When you pin someone onto your home screen, that profile will remain there until the meeting ends. It is very convenient, yet many people are concerned about the anonymity of the action. Can people see when you pin them on Google Meet? The section below answers this concern.

How to Pin on Google Meet?

Step 1

Open Google Meet. Join an existing meeting or start one.

Step 2

Find the participant or presentation that you want to pin. Right-click on the profile to reveal options.

Step 3

From the options, click on the Pin option with a respective pin icon next to it.

Step 4

The chosen profile is now pinned to your Google Meet home screen.

Step 5

You can always unpin the profile by clicking the unpin icon right below the pinned profile.

Can People See When You Pin Them on Google Meet?

Pinning on Google Meet only affects what you see. The pinned person is not informed or notified about the pinning. The host or the other members will also not know of the action.

The pinning action does not affect the process, even if the meeting is recorded. In short, only your home screen layout changes with the pinning process and nothing else.
