How to Position Images Behind or in Front of Text in Google Docs?

The possibility of adding an image behind or in front of text adds a significant visual appeal to the users or readers of a document. While there may not be the provision for such an instance in other document creators, Google Docs offers multiple ways with which images can be positioned in numerous ways inside a document. 

How to position images behind or in front of text in Google Docs?

Step 1. Open the Google Docs application on the device.

Step 2. Choose the document to work with.

Step 3. Make sure the necessary text is present in the document or else type it in.

Step 4. Click on the Insert option present in the top menu bar of the Google Docs window.

Step 5. From the drop-down menu, click on the Images option.

Step 6. Several options appear next to the Image option and the user can choose the source of the image to be added accordingly.

Step 7. Click on any of the options to choose an image.

Step 8. Choose the required image from the chosen source.

Step 9. Upload the chosen image. The image may appear next to the text.

Step 10. Right-click on the image to reveal Text Wrapping options.

Step 11. Click on the Behind Text icon at the bottom of the image to position the image behind the text.

Step 12. Once the Behind Text icon is clicked, the image is properly positioned behind the text.

Step 13. Click on the In Front of Text icon if you want to position the image in front of the text.

Step 14. After clicking the In Front of Text icon, the image is positioned over the text.

Step 15. To reveal the text, the user can adjust the transparency, contrast, etc. of the image in the Image options that are present on the right side of the screen.

Step 16. By adjusting the transparency of the image in front of the text, the hidden text can be revealed accordingly.

What are the other possibilities of adding an image along with text in Google Docs?

Numerous options are available in Google Docs to edit and upgrade text with images. To use them, follow the initial instructions above till the uploading of the image. 

Step 1. Click on the image and from the options that appear, click on the three vertical dots present at the bottom of the image.

Step 2. Click on the All Image Options from the ones that appear.

Step 3. A drop-down menu appears at the right end of the screen which contains several image editing options.

Step 4. Each of the Image Options is expandable and contains numerous features to edit the image and the text.

The user can edit the inserted image and the text as much as wanted and can be arranged in several positions to contribute to the visual appeal of the document.
