How to Embed a Video in Gmail?

Gmail offers users the option to send most media files as attachments and when it comes to videos, the application offers more than one way to send them to the intended person. Videos are generally embedded and sent to the receiver as the embedding process ensures that the video is instantly available within the email composed and thus, the receiver can get a hold of them right away. The embedding process can be carried out in two ways; through Google Drive and YouTube. Although the process via Google Drive is more convenient and easier, YouTube is also significant as YouTube does not let the viewer download most of the videos present in it and it is presently one of the hotspots of video content. 

How to embed a video in Gmail?

Method 1: Through YouTube

Step 1. Open the Gmail application on the concerned device.

Step 2. Click on the Google Apps icon present at the top right end of the Gmail window.

Step 3. From the drop-down menu that appears, click on the YouTube icon.

Step 4. Once you are logged into YouTube, find the Create icon present at the top right part of the window.

Step 5. On clicking the Create icon, a drop-down menu appears and from them, click on the Upload Video option.

Step 6. Pick and drag the video to be uploaded.

Step 7. After choosing the video, click on the Upload option at the bottom of the window.

Step 8. Once the uploading is finished, click on the Audience section of the upload page. And change the option from Public to Unlisted.

Step 9. After uploading the video and restricting the Audience section of the video to Unlisted, click on the Share option of the video.

Step 10. From the window that appears, click on the Copy Link option.

Step 11. The link is now copied to the clipboard.

Step 12. Open the Gmail application on the device and click on the Compose option at the top left of the window.

Step 13. Enter the necessary details in the Compose box that appears.

Step 14. Click on the Link icon at the bottom part of the Compose box.

Step 15. A dialogue box appears with slots to paste links.

Step 16. Paste the copied link of the video to be uploaded into the slot for Web Address and then click OK.

Step 17. The video is now embedded into the Compose box and now, click Send.

Method 2: Through Google Drive

Step 1. Open Google Drive on the device.

Step 2. Click on the New button at the top left corner.

Step 3. From the options, click on the Folder option.

Step 4. Name the folder and click on the Create option.

Step 5. Double click on the folder to open it.

Step 6. Move the selected video into this folder.

Step 7. Right-click on the video and choose Share from the options.

Step 8. Click on the General Access section to choose whoever can see the video.

Step 9. Copy the link.

The user can now open Gmail and compose an email and click on the Link icon to paste the link. The video is now embedded into the email and can be sent to the receiver.
